Addressing Pornography

This project has been an amazing thing to be a part of. Inititally we started by just trying to understand our audience and their challenges with pornography within the context of their membership within our church. We really wanted to understand what they were thinking, feeling, and doing in terms of living and working recovery from pornography addiction and/or betrayal trauma.

In providing resources and help for those struggling with addiction or betrayal trauma, empathy is key. Countless interviews were conducted and even filmed for future contenct, surveys were executed, and we attended several conferences both on the subject of pornography addiction and betrayal trauma, but also sexual explitation in general. One of our biggest take aways was that the experiences of others who have gone through these sorts of things, is what seems to be the most affective in providing hope and help to those in recovery - helping to reinforce the thought and feeling "you are not alone."
